KAMPALA, (Examiner) – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday hosted a delegation from Lyca Mobile Telephone Company at State House Entebbe. The delegation, led by the company’s Chairman, Mr. Subaskaran Allirajah, included Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and National Guidance, and Mr. George William Nyombi Thembo, the Executive Director of Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).
Mrs. Julianne Mweheire, UCC’s Director of Industry Affairs and Content Development, highlighted that the visit aimed to thank President Museveni for his support in facilitating the company’s launch in Uganda. Since starting operations in 2022, Lyca Mobile has successfully garnered one million subscribers.
President Museveni praised Lyca Mobile for its positive contributions and achievements in Uganda.
Additionally, Mr. Subaskaran assured the President of Lyca Mobile’s commitment to providing affordable services to all Ugandans.
The meeting also included the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Okello Oryem, who participated in the discussions.
