Kampala, Uganda | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Ronald Makata has been appointed as the new Chief Finance and Value Management Officer for Stanbic Bank Uganda, succeeding Abraham Ongenge, who has moved to Stanbic Bank Kenya as Executive Head for Personal and Private Banking.

Makata joined Stanbic Bank in 2013, initially as the Manager of Financial Reporting. Over the years, he has taken on various senior roles, including Financial Controller, Head Banking under Client Solutions, and most recently, Head Treasury and Capital Management. Makata is recognized for his leadership in transformative initiatives at the bank, such as strengthening financial controls across Africa, business transformation projects, client simplification journey, and digitization projects.

Anne Juuko, the Chief Executive of Stanbic Bank, expressed her satisfaction with Makata’s appointment, emphasizing his experience and commitment to mentoring young professionals. With over 17 years of experience in the Financial Services sector, Makata began his career at Barclays Uganda, steadily progressing to the role of Manager of Financial Reporting. He holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Makerere University, and is a certified coach and professional accountant. Additionally, Makata is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a member of the Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (CPA).
