Ubuntu Towers Uganda has successfully completed its rebranding and is now known as TowerCo of Africa Uganda. This new identity comes as a significant step towards reshaping connectivity in Uganda. TowerCo of Africa Uganda is 90% owned by TowerCo of Africa (TOA), a fully owned subsidiary of AXIAN Telecom.
Geoffrey Donnels Oketayot, the CEO at TowerCo of Africa Uganda, expressed excitement about this new chapter, stating, “We are thrilled to officially unveil TowerCo of Africa Uganda and embark on this exciting next journey. Our rebranding transfers the positive legacy from Ubuntu Towers to the TowerCo of Africa brand and marks a milestone in our evolution.
Our ambition is to become the leading green passive infrastructure solutions provider in Uganda.”The rebranding was celebrated at an event attended by the Uganda State Minister of ICT, Honourable Joyce Juliet Nabbosa Ssebugwawo, dignitaries, and business leaders. During the celebration, the TowerCo of Africa Uganda team reflected on the company’s market impact since its establishment in 2020 and expressed gratitude to partners for their support in benefiting the Ugandan people.TowerCo of Africa Uganda remains committed to sustainable and responsible development.
The company has already deployed towers across approximately 360 sites, with nearly all of them equipped with hybrid energy solutions. They anticipate significant growth in the number of towers in the coming years.Stephane Beuvelet, the CEO of TowerCo of Africa, emphasized how their infrastructure investments are positively impacting various sectors such as education, e-health, e-farming, logistics, and transport.
