Uganda Baati and UIA Envision a Thriving Business Landscape

Morrison Rwakakamba, the Chairman of Uganda Investment Authority, convened a momentous engagement meeting with the esteemed directors and managers of Uganda Baati, a leading metal roofing manufacturer in the country.

The focal point of this crucial meeting revolved around in-depth discussions concerning the profound interrelation between existing investment policies and their direct implications on the steel and construction industry.

Chairman Rwakakamba took the opportunity to commend Uganda Baati for its remarkable tenure since 1964, during which it has consistently generated employment opportunities, imparted valuable skills, facilitated import substitution, and fundamentally transformed the construction sector.

He expressed his optimism that the valuable feedback received during the meeting would pave the way for enhancing the business and investment climate, particularly with regards to the construction sector.

George Arodi, the Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Baati, conveyed his insights as well, emphasizing how investment policies can significantly influence the investment prospects of the Ugandan economy, either fostering growth or impeding progress.

Arodi eloquently stated, “By recognizing the critical role that investment policies play in shaping the business landscape, we are better equipped to strategically craft solutions that will foster growth, encourage innovation, and ultimately contribute to the overall success of both Uganda Baati and the broader business community and sector as a whole.”

The meeting culminated in a collective understanding that going forward, the parties involved would collaborate to build upon the fruitful discussions and translate them into tangible actions that will expedite the growth and prosperity of the construction industry.

Arodi passionately affirmed, “By working together, we will ensure a brighter future for all stakeholders involved.” This resolute commitment reflects the shared vision of a prosperous and thriving future for Uganda’s construction and business sectors.
