According to al-Hajj, discussions between a Qatari business delegation from KON Group and Ugandan officials have centered around potential collaborations in private sector partnerships and investment opportunities.
Meetings between Mohamed Riad Massani, Hissa K H al-Sowadi of KON Group, and Ugandan authorities including the minister of state for tourism, representatives from Kampala City Administration, and key investment sectors have paved the way for potential initiatives.
Key discussions involved collaboration on projects such as animal waste recycling with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and the exploration of opportunities in agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, and waste management sectors. Notably, there’s a focus on modern farming techniques to boost agricultural output and value addition, as well as promoting Uganda as a prime tourism destination.
The delegation also delved into opportunities in the manufacturing sector, including discussions with Salim Saleh, president’s adviser, showcasing Uganda’s strategic initiatives to attract foreign investment.
