The Education Minister Janet Museveni and the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) have released the 2023 Primary Leaving Examinations (2023 PLE) results from the State House, Nakasero.

This is the first set of exams to be released by the authorities this year.

The examination body announced that students will be able to access the results by SMS on their phones or via the Internet.
How do you check 2023 PLE results on phone?

You can get the 2023 PLE Results for any candidate in a few simple steps.

In your message box, type PLE INDEX NUMBER and send it to 6600.

For example, to check the results of the candidate with index number 654321/001, in your message box, type PLE 654321/001 AND SEND TO 6600.

You will receive an SMS for Shs500 per candidate.

For School administrations, UNEB officials explained that results will be uploaded on the examination center portals to enable schools to download the results as they are officially released.

Unveiling 2023 PLE results, the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) Executive Director Dan Odongo said a total of 749,254 candidates from 15,859 centres registered for PLE in 2023 compared to 832,654 in 2022.

Of this number, 501,602 (66.9%) from 11,365 centres were Universal Primary Education (UPE) beneficiaries, and 247,652 (33.1) of the candidates were Non-UPE.

A higher proportion of the 2023 candidates passed in Division Three and above level. Overall, the performance of candidates is comparable to that of 2022.

Division U (Ungraded) is awarded to candidates who have failed to reach the minimum level of performance that can be awarded at least a Division Four. They are not eligible for admission to the Senior One class.
