Muhammad Segirinya, a Kawempe North MP who is now having treatment in the Netherlands, claims that he now feels secure because NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi promised to cover all medical expenses.

When Segirinya revealed over the weekend that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer and that he was unable to pay his mounting medical expenditures of 80 million, it raised major concerns about his health.

Segirinya also begged for assistance, alleging that despite being entitled to medical care, Parliament had abandoned him. However, after Parliament and the LoP’s office made it clear that Segirinya had not complied with the proper procedure for getting medical support, this assertion was revealed to be untrue.

Segirinya now claims that everything is OK, due to his party NUP and its leader Robert Kyagulanyi, in a new video.

“My voters, I’m happy to let you know that the issue that has been bothering me has been resolved. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, my president, will cover all medical expenses”. Segirinya states in a video, looking obviously weak.

Segirinya expressed his gratitude to fellow MPs, the LoP Mathias Mpuuga, the NUP secretary general Lewis Lubongoya, and the hospital staff at Amsterdam University Medical Centre for their assistance in obtaining the crucial money.

He reassured his followers that there was no need to be concerned that he might have to clean hospital beds and linens in order to pay the bills.

Segirinya hinted that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer, lungs infected with a virus, and liver issues in the audio that was captured over the weekend. He expressed concern that if the recommended treatment—which includes removing two unhealthy liver tissues—is not given, he would pass quite shortly.

As soon as financing was secured, Segirinya announced that he would undergo a bone marrow procedure, followed by another procedure to remove viruses from his lungs. He stated that he hopes to stay in the hospital for two months after receiving the doctors’ assurances.
