KASESE, (Examiner) – The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities recently completed a district assessment visit and selected Kasese as the host for the upcoming event on September 27, 2024.

With the theme “Tourism and Peace,” Doreen S. Katusiime, the ministry’s permanent secretary, addressed a letter to the Chief Administrative Officer of Kasese, stating that the event aims to showcase the region’s significant developments and attractions, emphasizing the role of peace in its socio-economic development.

“We appreciate your passion and support for the tourism sector and look forward to a successful World Tourism Day 2024,” the statement concluded.

Eric Baluku, Kasese’s municipal tourism officer, expressed optimism that the event would highlight Kasese’s tourism and business potential.

In recent years, Kasese has leveraged its tourism assets to gain global attention. The annual Rwenzori Theluji Festival is a major event promoting sustainable tourism investments and enhancing Kasese’s appeal with a memorable Rwenzori experience.
