Nebbi District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | A self-proclaimed medical practitioner in Nebbi district finds himself in police custody on charges of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old patient. The accused, identified as Francis Adabbu, hails from Onjuku Upper Cell in Forest Zone ward, Thatha Division, Nebbi Municipality, and has been operating under the alias ‘Doctor Adabbu.’
Adabbu stands accused of committing this heinous act on Friday, September 7, 2023, at his Nebbi Town clinic. Early reports suggest that he took advantage of the vulnerable teenager, who had sought treatment for a persistent headache.
The victim, originally from Zombo district, had followed the suspect’s recommendation for a medical review. Nebbi District Police Commander, Amisi Kayondo, disclosed that the suspect was apprehended on Tuesday following a report from the victim’s parents.
Concerns arose within the family when they noticed disturbing changes in their daughter’s behavior shortly after her return from the medical review. Kayondo added that the police have filed multiple charges against the suspect, including aggravated defilement, impersonation, and illegal possession of government-provided medications.
Upon the suspect’s arrest, law enforcement officials discovered an assortment of government-issued drugs at Adabbu’s makeshift clinic in Nebbi Town. John Berocan Ongom, the LC1 Chairperson of Onjuku Cell, revealed that the suspect had been offering medical services to the local community for an extended period.
“Adabbu has been providing medical assistance to our local community for quite some time. I learned about his arrest, but the police did not contact my office,” Ongom commented.
This disturbing incident occurred less than a week after Joshua Mutundi, a records officer at Buwaiswa Health Center III in Buwaya Sub-County, Mayuge district, was apprehended by Busoga East police for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.
