AL-GAZIRA, (Examiner) – The Sudanese Doctors’ Union has accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of fatally shooting Dr. Farouk Yahya Mohammed, the medical director of Al-Hasahisa Hospital, along with an anesthesiology consultant. The brutal act occurred on the road to Al-Managil in Al-Gazira State, in front of Dr. Mohammed’s family.

According to a statement obtained by Radio Tamazuj on Thursday, the union confirmed Dr. Mohammed’s killing during his journey to Al-Managil with his family. Details of the incident were not disclosed by the union.

Adeeba Ibrahim Al-Sayyid, a union member and head of the specialists’ branch, described the killing as a cold-blooded act by the RSF, occurring in the presence of Dr. Mohammed’s children. Al-Sayyid lamented that such incidents were unfortunately not uncommon for the RSF.

Efforts by Radio Tamazuj to obtain a response from the RSF were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.

Doctors Mourn Slain Colleague

The Preliminary Committee of the Sudanese Doctors’ Union has expressed deep sorrow and condolences following the tragic death of Dr. Farouk Yahya Mohammed, who was killed by the RSF on Thursday while traveling to Al-Managil with his family.

“With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we mourn Dr. Farouk Yahya Mohammed, who was killed by the RSF on the road to Al-Managil in front of his family on Thursday,” the union stated.

The statement continued, “Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew him. We pray for his mercy and forgiveness, and may he be admitted to the highest paradise with the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous.”

“Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return,” concluded the statement.
