On Thursday, the National Unity Platform (NUP) revealed that their leader, Mr. Robert Kyagulanyi, known as Bobi Wine, was forcibly removed by security personnel upon his arrival at Entebbe International Airport.
NUP Secretary General, David Lewis Rubongoya, informed reporters along the Entebbe Kampala highway that Bobi Wine had been taken from the aircraft and transported to an undisclosed location. As of now, the party is unable to ascertain his current whereabouts.
NUP officials further reported that more than 300 of their supporters had been apprehended between Wednesday and Thursday morning, just prior to the party president’s return from his mobilization tours in Canada and South Africa.
A mini-bus en route to Entebbe Airport was also intercepted at the Kitubulu checkpoint. Occupants were ordered to exit the vehicle for a thorough security check.
