Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Unveils Balanced Budget for FY 2023/24

Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom has unveiled its budget for the upcoming financial year, 2023/24. The budget, totaling UGX 22.519 billion shillings, presents a detailed allocation plan that outlines the expected revenue and the intended distribution of funds among various sectors.

Here’s a breakdown of the allocations:

  1. Ministry of Investment – UGX 6.44 billion
  2. Ministry of Finance – UGX 3.978 billion
  3. Office of the Prime Minister – UGX 3.458 billion
  4. Palace Affairs – UGX 2.211 billion
  5. Ministry of Culture – UGX 1.356 billion
  6. Ministry of Tourism – UGX 977.5 million
  7. Attorney General Chambers – UGX 870 million
  8. Orukurato – UGX 750.3 million
  9. Ministry of Social Services – UGX 518.3 million
  10. Ministry of Natural Resources – UGX 505 million
  11. Ministry of Production – UGX 440 million
  12. Ministry of Gender – UGX 407.5 million
  13. Oil and Gas – UGX 308.7 million
  14. Ministry of External Relations – UGX 240 million
  15. Restitution and Reparations – UGX 58 million

In total, these allocations sum up to UGX 22.512 billion shillings, aligning perfectly with the expected incomes for the financial year 2023/24. This equilibrium ensures a balanced budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

The official presentation of this year’s budget was conducted at the Kingdom administration offices by Owek. Robert Owagonza during a special Kingdom Parliamentary sitting held earlier today. This annual budget not only outlines the financial plan for the new fiscal year but also provides insights into the Kingdom’s achievements during the just-concluded financial year, 2022/23.
