KASESE DISTRICT | THE BLACK EXAMINER – In a developing situation in Kasese Municipality, about eight families in Kanyangeya cell are at risk of eviction due to alleged illegal occupation of land, as reported by Kasese Guide Radio.

Mr. Johnson Kabagambe, Vice Chairperson for Kanyangeya Ward in Kasese Municipality, revealed that the affected families are accused of unlawfully occupying land that belongs to the late Abasi Kibaba.

A meeting has been scheduled for next week to address the matter, as Mr. Kabagambe emphasized the importance of resolving the issue without unnecessary conflict. He urged the local council one executive to take an active interest in the situation.

One of the complainants, Mr. Farouk Kibaba, asserted that the affected families acquired the land unlawfully. However, he also mentioned that the Kibaba family is open to negotiation with the alleged trespassers if they are willing to cooperate.

A woman from the affected families, who chose not to disclose her identity, vehemently argued that they legally purchased the contested land. She accused the Kibaba family of trying to exploit their financial vulnerability to corner them, referring to the Kibabas as wealthy and educated.
