Kabale District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | The Kabale territorial police reported a fatal accident in which an unidentified adult male lost his life at Kyobugombe trading center in Kaharo sub-county, along the Kabale-Mbarara highway. This incident, confirmed by ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi police spokesperson, occurred at 3:00 AM today. It involved a stationary vehicle with the registration number 128E/RL3057 and a motorcycle bearing registration number UEE 967E, ridden by the unidentified deceased.
According to Maate, the motorcyclist was traveling from the Kabale side towards Muhanga. When he reached Kyobugombe, he collided with a stationary vehicle that had experienced mechanical problems the previous day at noon, resulting in the immediate death of the motorcyclist. The scene was attended by ASP Mucunguzi, OC Traffic officer Kabale, and their team, who retrieved the body and transported it to Kabale referral hospital for a postmortem.
The motorcycle has been parked at Kabale CPS pending an IOV inspection, while the stationary vehicle was left at the scene with its number plates removed. The driving license and COMESA documents were taken into police custody. Maate has appealed to anyone who can identify the motorcycle rider to come forward for the purpose of making burial arrangements.
