Fear as ADF Militants Threaten Four Schools in Bushenyi

Bushenyi District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Bushenyi District has been placed on high alert following the distribution of concerning leaflets believed to originate from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels. These leaflets were discovered in Kyamuhanga Sub County on a Monday night, raising tensions in the region.

The ominous leaflets contained explicit threats targeting four educational institutions, all situated within Kyamuhunga Sub County of Bushenyi District. These schools include Kyamuhunga Secondary School, Kyamuhunga Central Primary School, and Kabingo Model Primary School.

In response to this alarming development, Robert Atuhairwe, the Bushenyi District Resident District Commissioner (RDC) and head of the District security committee, announced that they are taking immediate action. Atuhairwe stated that meetings will be held with Local Council (LC) chairpersons to explore all available avenues for safeguarding the local population and their assets. The goal is to devise effective security measures.

Moreover, Atuhairwe emphasized his coordination efforts with authorities in the neighboring Rubirizi District to ensure there is no room for terrorism or any other unlawful activities in the region.

Jafari Basajjabalaba, the Chairman of Bushenyi District, further underscored the importance of community vigilance. The district has been actively encouraging residents in the proximity of Karinju, Imaramagambo, and Kasyoha Kitomi to remain vigilant and actively contribute to bolstering the security in their area. The collaboration between local leadership and the community is seen as a critical component in maintaining peace and security in the region during these tense times.
