Fugitive man beheads neighbor in Masindi

An unidentified man is currently evading authorities after beheading his neighbor, Charles Pithua, at Karongo Trading Centre in Budongo Sub-county, Masindi District.

According to Mr. Julius Kyahurwa, the Chairman of Budongo Sub-county Local Government, reports suggest that the alleged murderer, who worked as a sugarcane cutter in the area, had a dispute with the deceased farmer on Wednesday. The cause of the disagreement remains unknown.

The conflict reportedly escalated on Thursday when the suspect, in a fit of rage, seized a machete and decapitated Pithua around 9 pm. Subsequently, the assailant fled to an undisclosed location.

Mr. Antonio Oronga, the brother of the deceased, expressed his profound sorrow upon learning about the gruesome murder at Kamuziika trading center.

Confirming the incident, SP Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Publicist, told Examiner that exhibits were recovered from the suspect’s residence. The police are actively pursuing the suspect, while investigations into the motive behind the heinous act are ongoing.
