Kasese, Uganda | The Black Examiner – In a bid to ensure the provision of clean and safe water to the residents of Kitabu sub-county in Kasese district, the Government has allocated a sum exceeding Fifty Million shillings for the restoration of the Kitabu gravity water flow scheme during the current fiscal year.

This gravity water flow scheme is intended to benefit around 2500 households within Kitabu sub-county.

While speaking to the local populace at Nyamirami trading centre immediately after conducting an assessment of the undertaking, the Member of Parliament for the area, Honorable Gideon Thembo Mujungu, revealed that the financial support for the rehabilitation efforts has been provided by the Ministry of Water, operating under the umbrella of water and sanitation.

Mujungu underscored that localities such as Kitabu, Musekera, Nyamirami, and Busara are poised to gain access to clean and safe water by the month of December.

He further highlighted that the revitalization of the Kitabu gravity water flow scheme has been a long-anticipated initiative aimed at addressing the needs of the local community.

Honorable Mujungu appealed for collaborative endeavors to ensure the completion of the rehabilitation within a span of four months.

Mr. Peter Ebwat, the Branch Manager of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation in Kasese, who accompanied the lawmaker during the visit, issued a cautionary message to the public regarding unauthorized connections once the project reaches its fruition.
