Kibaale Man Killed while Trying to Rescue Fighting Colleagues

Police in Kibaale are holding one Fred Byaruhanga, aged 26 years on allegations of murder.

Byaruhanga is accused of murdering 51-year-old George Tibenderana.

The suspect and deceased are all residents of Kyabahinda –Kiyanja.

Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region police spokesperson told Examiner that on December 30, last year, Byaruhanga and Eve Zahura occupants of Nzelena picked a quarrel which prompted one Margret Mukisa, the mother to Fred Byaruhanga to rush to the deceased’s home to call him for help.

Hakiza says the deceased came and started chasing away Byaruhanga which annoyed him and picked a hoe and started hitting Tibenderana on the head several times.

He says Tibenderana was rushed to True Vine health facility in Igayaza for treatment where he breathed his last.

Byaruhanga was arrested and taken to Kyebando police post. He will be charged with murder.
