Kasese District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Major General Dick Olum, the Commander of the Mountain Division, has called upon Local Defence Personnel (LDPs) to be prepared and serve diligently in various operational areas within the Mountain Division.
Maj Gen Olum made this announcement today during his supervision of the graduation ceremony for 461 Local Defence Personnel who had just completed their refresher training at the Hima Training School in Kasese District.
He encouraged them to maintain discipline as a means to advance their careers within the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces and emphasized the consequences of desertion.
Furthermore, Maj Gen Olum provided motivational support to the troops and cautioned the LDPs against engaging in reckless lifestyles. He also urged them to take precautions against HIV/AIDS and advised the female LDPs to avoid early pregnancies.
Colonel Saul Nabimanya, the 222 Brigade Commander, affirmed that the freshly graduated trainees had received comprehensive training tailored to the operational requirements within the Mountain Division’s area of responsibility. He declared that they were fully prepared for deployment in the operational theater under the 222 Mountain Brigade’s jurisdiction.
