Kasese, Uganda | The Black Examiner – Two sons of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kasese Municipality, Hon Ferigo Kambale, have been sentenced to prison due to their connection with opium, according to reports.

The arrests of the two individuals occurred earlier this week, leading to their confinement at Nateete Police Station.

Subsequent information reveals that both sons discontinued their education at university, having enrolled for studies previously. The MP attributes their academic withdrawal to their association with illicit substances.

Yet, during an interview with a local publication, Hon Kambale disclosed that he did not directly send his sons to the police. Instead, he acknowledged that their apprehension was facilitated with his approval, given the issue of drug abuse.

In a full acknowledgment and endorsement of his sons’ incarceration, he stated, “They require rehabilitation to restore their well-being.”

The two sons have been identified as Brian Kambale, a former student who was pursuing a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance at Uganda Christian University before discontinuing, and Rico Bwambale, who was pursuing a finance diploma at Makerere University Business School (MUBS).

The father aspires that after the stipulated rehabilitation period in custody, his sons will be prepared to resume their studies.

Following the verdict of Nateete-Rubaga Court Grade 1 Magistrate, Adams Byarugaba, the MP’s offspring are now mandated to serve a prison sentence of no less than four months, a duration perceived as conducive to their reform.
