Travellers will no longer need to buy physical SIM cards when venturing abroad, as adding an international plan can be done in a few taps. MTN Uganda is inviting customers with eligible devices to visit any of its service centres with their valid National ID and upgrade to an eSIM.

How to obtain an MTN Uganda e-SIM:
- Dial *#06# to confirm if your phone supports e-SIM. If yes, it will display an EID Number.
- Visit an MTN Service Center with your Original National ID to obtain an e-SIM.
- A customer service agent will guide you through the standard swap process, capturing your biometric details and photos.
- A QR code will be generated for you to scan, activating the e-SIM on your phone.
