Kampala, Uganda | THE BLACK EXAMINER | President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has announced his intention to provide funding for youth-led innovations in Uganda. He made this commitment during his address at the 4th Youth Business Forum and Expo held at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. The forum centered around the theme of “Building Sustainable Strategic Partnerships and Policy Frameworks for Supporting Youth Innovation and Startups.”

President Museveni expressed his readiness to meet with youth leaders to discuss funding for their innovative projects. He highlighted that the Uganda Development Bank already has funds allocated for this purpose, and he questioned why these resources are not more accessible to young entrepreneurs.

The President assured the youth that the government would offer necessary support to innovative projects as long as they demonstrate a clear business perspective. He commended the youth for their newfound enthusiasm in generating solutions for Uganda’s challenges and urged them to focus on addressing issues related to poverty and unemployment.

President Museveni emphasized the importance of understanding economics and identifying profitable areas such as food production, clothing, shelter, health, mobility, and security. He encouraged youth innovators to cluster their products and assess demand at local, national, and global levels.

Furthermore, President Museveni discussed the significance of regional cooperation and a common market in Africa, emphasizing that economic and political organization is vital for overcoming poverty. The event also featured statements from the European Union Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Jan Sadek, and other government officials who praised President Museveni’s efforts in supporting youth entrepreneurship and innovation.

In conclusion, the event brought together young entrepreneurs, innovators, and government officials to promote entrepreneurship and economic development among Uganda’s youth.
