Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone has disclosed the funeral plans for his elder brother, Humphrey Mayanja, who tragically lost his battle with cancer on March 30.

According to Chameleone, Humphrey will be laid to rest on Wednesday, April 3. The arrangements include a church service at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lweza at noon on Tuesday, April 2, followed by a vigil at Mayanja’s residence in Kitiko, Kigo, on the same day.

The final send-off will take place on Wednesday, April 3, with burial scheduled for 2 P.M. in Kalangaalo, Singo, after a noon church service in Kalangaalo.

Humphrey Mayanja’s struggle with cancer was well-documented, as he had been receiving treatment at the Mulago-based Uganda Cancer Institute. Despite efforts to combat the disease, he sadly succumbed to it.

Chameleone, expressing his grief, shared a poignant photo of Humphrey on his Facebook page, accompanied only by his name and a crying emoji. The family had brought him back from the United States to receive treatment in Uganda, surrounded by loved ones.

Humphrey’s battle with cancer began when he was diagnosed with stage-four colon cancer last year, prompting his return to Uganda for treatment near his family.
