In a shocking incident that has left many in Tororo District reeling, a father is on the run after he killed his biological son over missing pieces of meat. The incident which took place  in Kipangori B in Molo Sub County  involved the father violently attacking his son after a dispute over the missing pieces of meat.

The suspect was identified as Patrick Mamkol. The family involved in this incident has not been identified, but sources close to the family reveal that the father had a history of volatility, and their relationship had recently been strained. The family also lived in a humble abode, and their lack of resources had caused occasional disagreements in the family.

On the day of the incident, the father had accused his son of stealing pieces of meat. According to the Bukeddi South regional police spokesperson, the suspect introduced the victim to different kinds of punishments including burning him with hot water

As a result of the father’s harsh actions, the son suffered severe burn injuries that eventually led to his death on the way to Tororo Main Hospital.

The incident was quickly reported to the police, who immediately launched an investigation. The father, who fled the scene, is currently on the run.

“The body of the deceased was then taken to Bugiri hospital for postmortem as the hunt for the suspect continues,” Mr Mugwe added. The father has since fled the town, and a manhunt is currently underway to track him down.

This is a chilling incident that highlights the growing rate of domestic violence within our community. The tragic case is a reminder of the destructive impact that domestic violence can have on families and family relationships. The incident also serves as a reminder of the need for education and awareness about domestic violence within our society.

It is critical that we take steps to combat this rising problem. Education is critical in raising awareness about domestic violence and encouraging open discussion on the topic. Interpersonal relationships and communication are also essential in preventing these situations from escalating further.

We must also encourage individuals to report any suspicious or abusive behavior to the authorities. Intervention may be necessary to protect those who are in harm’s way. Unfortunately, it is only when domestic violence takes a tragic turn like this that we realize the importance of taking action.

More must be done to break the cycle of domestic violence, to ensure that everyone lives a life free from abuse and violence. Let us take this incident as a reminder to take action and hold ourselves accountable for our actions. Ultimately, we must work towards creating a safer and more compassionate community for all.
