Junior Police Officer Shoots Senior Dead in Tororo

Police in Tororo are investigating the circumstances surrounding a tragic shooting incident involving a senior police officer, identified as IP OKWELE MOSES, and his junior counterpart, NO.23882 Sgt Ochom William Francis. The deceased held the position of officer in charge at Petta police post in Petta sub-county, Tororo district.

Preliminary findings indicate that the incident unfolded after a minor quarrel between Ochom and his superior. Reportedly succumbing to rage, Ochom allegedly shot Okwele four times in the abdomen. Okwele was fatally injured, and Ochom sustained injuries to his legs. The injured suspect was admitted to Tororo General Hospital, while Okwele’s body was transferred to Tororo Main Hospital for a postmortem examination.

D/SP Batumwa Charles, the Tororo district CID, confirmed the incident and assured the public that active investigations are underway to uncover further details about the tragic event.
