Three injured in Dokolo land wrangle

Three members of the same family are nursing injuries they sustained in a land wrangle in Dokolo District.

The trio who have been admitted at Lira Regional Referral Hospital are residents of Apala A cell, Mayiro angwen ward, Agwata Town Council.

Peter Omola, the LC1 of Apala A cell, said the three injured persons are; Tony Ongom 50, James Obia 56, and George Anang 46.
According to Omola, they had a disagreement over one hector piece of land that had been offered by Atek Olima Kwanga clan to George Anang for farming but James Obia and Tony Ongom who were struggling for this same land stormed the garden with pangas, spears among others and engaged in a fight in which they were injured.

Omola said the matter was reported to Agwata police post, but the trio was first taken for treatment before the matter could be pursued.

Quinto Otile, the sub clan chief of Atek Olima Kwanga confirmed that the clan divided the land but the trio was not contended with the same.

A police officer who pleaded for anonymity said the matter has been reported to them, awaiting investigation.

James Obia, Tony Ongom said they were are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
