The Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) has detained Lilian Ayebazibwe, the principal of Bubaale Primary School in Bushenyi, and turned her over to the authorities for allegedly furnishing her former Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) students with counterfeit results.
Ayebazibwe faced a hearing at Uneb offices regarding suspected malpractice, leading to the retention of exam outcomes for 114 candidates.
According to Uneb spokesperson Jennifer Kalule, the investigation revealed that school officials had provided fabricated results to students in the form of testimonial forms. Kalule added that Uneb found that all 114 affected candidates had utilized these testimonials containing inaccurate results to enroll in senior one.

Despite releasing PLE results on January 25, Uneb did not disclose the number of suspected malpractice cases or the involved schools. At the time, Uneb executive director Dan Odongo defended the decision, citing potential harm to innocent schools from premature announcements.
