Kibuku District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Four guns were taken from the police armoury in the Kibuku district, and the police now have one of their own in custody. 

The police officer is known as CPL Okea Boniventure, no. 10316. In a report submitted by 58-year-old Prison Officer Namajja Eve, a Mugwere by Tribe employed by Kibuku Prisons and a resident of Bukatikoko Village, Bukatikoko Parish, Tirinyi Town Council, Kibuku District, it is claimed that at 7 p.m. on November 15, 2023, an unknown individual broke into 10316 Cpl Okea Boniventure’s room and stole four SMGS with a total of 116 rounds of ammunition.

The armoury man had left the room unnoticed. “CPL Okea keeps firearms in his room, which is roughly 400 metres from the prison. The night shift officers had reported for work, and he had left without arming them, according to Namajja.

ASP Elugant John Michael of the OC prison called him multiple times to equip cops working the night shift, but he declined. Reporter Namajja Eve discovered the incident and notified OC Prison, which then notified Tirinyi Police Station.

A group and ASP Ssesaazi Habibu OC Station Tirinyi arrived at the scene with CPL number 10316. When Okea Boniventure was called later on the phone, he was too inebriated to come. At Tirinyi Police Station, he was taken into custody on the identical charges that were filed under SD ref 20/15/11/2023.
