Mr. Tumwijukye urged school teachers to uphold the highest level of integrity during the examination process and cautioned against any malpractices that could compromise the fairness of the exams.
This warning comes at a time when some school headteachers and directors have been disrupting candidates due to unpaid school fees. However, Tumwijukye stressed that such actions are a clear violation of Section 30(1) of the UNEB Act 2021 and are considered a criminal offense.
Dr. Dan Odong, the Secretary of the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), announced yesterday that a total of 749,347 candidates registered for the PLE this year.
