As per a communication released by State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, the President will engage in a meeting of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) on regional cooperation and development. This aligns with Kenya’s dedication to fostering stability and progress in the Eastern African region.
On Friday, President Ruto is slated to partake in the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement. Mohamed stated, “The summit will address crucial global issues, including multilateralism, international peace, and post-Covid 19 recovery strategies.”
The spokesperson added that during the summit, themed ‘Deepening Cooperation for Shared Global Affluence,’ President Ruto will actively contribute to discussions focusing on key priorities like the reform of the United Nations, peace and security, Sustainable Development Goals, climate change, and the restructuring of the international financial system.
Furthermore, President Ruto will engage in bilateral meetings with various Heads of State and leaders to reinforce diplomatic ties and underscore Kenya’s role in both regional and global affairs.
