Road Accident Claims the Life of UTC Student in Bushenyi

Bushenyi district, Uganda – Police in Bushenyi district are currently investigating a fatal road accident that resulted in the untimely death of a young student from Uganda Technical College (UTC) – Bushenyi. The incident occurred this morning around 10 a.m. in the Kyeigombe area, Kyabugimbi subcounty, Bushenyi district.

Confirming the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Martial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for the greater Bushenyi region police, identified the deceased as Jefferson Kabeza, a 22-year-old student of UTC Bushenyi.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene, Kabeza tragically lost control of the motor vehicle he was driving, identified as registration number UAY 626K. As a result, the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a nearby building, leading to instantaneous fatality.

In response to the accident, the police promptly arrived at the scene and took charge of the situation. The lifeless body of Jefferson Kabeza was conveyed to Kyabugimbi Health Centre IV for a postmortem examination to ascertain the precise cause of death.

As the authorities strive to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident, an official inquiry into the cause of the accident has been launched. The investigation aims to shed light on any potential contributing factors that might have led to the loss of young Kabeza’s life.

The entire UTC Bushenyi community is in mourning as they grapple with the loss of one of their students. Jefferson Kabeza’s untimely death serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of road safety and vigilance while driving.
