Kampala, Uganda | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Security measures have been significantly strengthened to ensure a tranquil celebration of the eagerly awaited Vumbula Uganda Festival scheduled for the upcoming weekend in Busabala.

The three-day festival, dedicated to art, diverse culture, and music, is set for December 1-3, 2023, at Kaazi Camping Grounds in Busabala.

In anticipation of the large crowds expected at Kaazi, the organizers, Vumbula Uganda, are collaborating with various security agencies to ensure robust security arrangements are in place before the event.

Several heads of military and police agencies gathered at Kaazi on Thursday for a site visit and discussions on stringent measures to guarantee a safe tourism experience during the festival.

Vumbula Uganda’s Shadrack Wasukira emphasized the heightened focus on security for this edition to provide attendees with the best and safest experience. He assured festival lovers that security would be a top priority, and attendees should expect stringent security measures.

The festival gates are set to open on Friday at midday and will remain accessible until Monday morning. As part of the preparations, additional barricades and fencing will be erected around the event premises, and a considerable number of security personnel and stewards will be deployed for maximum security.

With an entrance fee of only Shs50,000, attendees can enjoy a wide range of activities showcasing the best of Uganda’s tourism, art, music, and culture. The venue provides camping space with soothing music, tourism exhibitions, and a food court.

Over 300 acts and cultural troupes are expected to perform during the three-day festival. Physical tickets are available at the Uganda Museum, and for more information, individuals can follow Vumbula Uganda on their social media platforms.
