Shock As Two Students Die In A Week At Kyamakanda S.S!

Buyanja sub-county, Rukungiri district. Two students from Kyamakanda Senior Secondary School lost their lives under mysterious circumstances within a span of just two days. The school administration has now come forward to shed light on the unfortunate events.

The first victim was identified as Shidura Kiconco, a senior four student, approximately 19 years old, hailing from Kyatoko ward in Rukungiri municipality. According to the school head teacher, David Turyamusiima, Kiconco’s parents rushed her to seek medical attention after she developed complications. Sadly, her condition worsened, and she was taken to Nyakibale hospital, where she passed away on Sunday morning. The sudden loss of the young student came as a shock to both her family and the school community, leaving them grief-stricken.

Just a day after mourning the loss of Shidura Kiconco, the school was struck with another tragedy. Easter Kyoshabire, a senior six student aged around 22 years, hailing from Kajunju village in Ruhinda Sub County, succumbed to her challenges with mental health. Kyoshabire had recently commenced her studies in Kampala, but due to her health complications, her parents decided to bring her closer to them so they could monitor her well-being more closely.

The head teacher, David Turyamusiima, explained that Kyoshabire had spent a week at home, and on Sunday, she returned to school to resume her studies. However, her condition took a turn for the worse, prompting the school authorities to take immediate action and seek medical assistance for her. Tragically, a few hours after the school authorities handed her over to her parents, the devastating news of her passing reached them through a phone call. The entire school community was plunged into grief once again, as they had now lost two of their students within such a short period.
