Two individuals suspected to be agents of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) were apprehended in various regions of the country.

In the western region of Rwenzori, Masiko Farouk was taken into custody by the police. Fred Enanga, a police spokesperson, revealed that Masiko confessed to his affiliation with the ADF, a confession stemming from his abduction by the rebel group in 2015. Following his escape from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), he returned to his hometown in Ibanda before relocating to Kitagwenda for temporary employment. Enanga stated, “The vigilant community noticed his suspicious behavior, enabling us to apprehend him.”

The second suspect, identified as Komakech Rasuuli, was arrested as part of police CBS operations. He had been forcibly conscripted into the ADF at the age of 7. Rasuuli also claims to have escaped from the group, but Enanga raised concerns regarding his possession of ammunition, casting doubt on his activities in Kampala.

These developments are a result of ongoing operations related to the double blasts that occurred in November 2021 along Parliamentary Avenue and the Central Police Station in Kampala.
