Two Arrested Over Death of 40-Year-Old Man in Rukiga

Rukiga District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Police in Rukiga district have arrested two suspects for questioning over the death of 40-year-old Martin Tumwekwase, a resident of Kasoni cell in Rwenyangi Parish, Kamwezi sub-county, Rukiga district.

According to ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson, the suspects are Guston Asiimwe and Ruth Aharizira, both of the above address.

Maate alleges that the deceased was married to Ruth Aharizira, and later they separated. The man was residing in Kamwezi town center, and the woman rented in Omurutare Cell.

Apparently, the deceased was last seen in the center on 11/11/2023 at around 21:00 hrs with both suspects at the bar of Didas. They left heading home, but in the morning, he was found dead in his house.

Maate told our reporter that police were informed by one Bonnie Tugumisirize, the area chairperson of Kasoni cell. The OC CID, DPC, and Regional SOCO preceded to the scene, documented and processed it. Postmortem was done at Kamwezi Health Centre IV, and the two suspects were arrested.
