Kenya and Uganda set for FIM Africa Motocross Challenge rematch

Jamhuri Mx Racetrack is gearing up for an intense showdown as Kenyan riders face off against their Ugandan counterparts in the second round of the FIM Africa Central African Challenge (CAC) Motocross Challenge Cup on Saturday and Sunday The Black Examiner has learnt.

After a defeat to Uganda in the opening round earlier this year, Kenya aims to leverage the home advantage in the season-closing regional motocross extravaganza.

CAC Round 2 promises a spectacular display of talent, featuring top motocross riders from the region competing in high-speed racing, breathtaking jumps, and heart-stopping turns.

Key riders to watch from Team Kenya MX50 squad include Armani Amani, Jyaden Weru, and Uhrie Yongo. In MX65, Kenya pins its hopes on Kigen Mutuma, Mathenge Kamundia, and Dylan Hatanga. Lewis Ogonyi, Wahome Mutahi, and Atete Benzinge stand out in the MX Lites class.

MX 125 boasts familiar names Neo Wahome and Tanav Choda, while MX 1 showcases seasoned riders Apollo Mbuki, Walter Kuria, and Alex Kandie for the Kenyan team.

The Ugandan lineup features notable riders like Jude K. Musede, Jamairah Makumbi, Faith Deedan, Jonathan Katende, Isaac Mitima, Ramadhan Mubiru, Tabula Malcom Gig, Jerome Mubiru, Ron Young, Apolo Milton Obote Akaki, Waleed Ali Omar, Jeremiah Mawanda, Jordan Mukiibi, Sharifah Kateete, Isima Mukiibi, Fatuh Kiggundu, Fortune Ssentamu, and veteran Ashraf Mbabazi in the MX Vets category.

Organized by the Motorcycle Sports Federation of Kenya (MSFK) in collaboration with the East African Motor Sports Club, this FIM Africa regional event is the return leg series following the success of Round 1 at the Busiika racetrack in Uganda on April 8 and 9. The upcoming event will showcase the fierce competition among over 50 Kenyan motocross riders, 50 Ugandan riders, and nearly 10 riders from Tanzania.
