Kitara will attempt to regain the top spot in the Startimes Uganda Premier League when they face Wakiso Giants at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso on Wednesday.
Currently, the top spot is occupied by Bul, who continued their winning streak in the campaign with a 2-1 victory at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Tuesday. This win propelled them to 15 points, and they are one of only two teams maintaining a perfect record, narrowly overtaking Kitara, who have played one game less.
Their impressive run has been founded on a robust defense and a collective team effort, as well as capitalizing on set-piece situations. These attributes were on full display yesterday when George Kasonko scored off a Ronald Otti header from a corner kick in the 34th minute.
The second goal followed a similar pattern just three minutes later, with Otti heading in at the far post from a corner delivered by Jerome Kirya.
Although Villa managed to pull a goal back in the 63rd minute through Umar Lutalo, following an excellent team move, a complete comeback did not materialize.

This result adds to the frustration for Villa, whose goalkeeper, Norman Angufindru, is still a work in progress and remains susceptible to crosses. Additionally, it increases the pressure on Serbian coach Dusan Stojanovic, as his team has won just once in five games, accumulating only five points.
In Jinja, a 10-man Busoga United secured three points and local bragging rights by defeating Gaddafi 1-0 through Isaac Doka Mweru’s strike in the dying minutes of the first half at the Gaddafi Arena.
Mweru and his teammate Basham Mugwa caught the Soldier Boys off guard, leading to a one-on-one confrontation with Willis Otong, which Mweru fired into the far post.
Busoga ended the match with only ten players after their captain, Charles Mulanda, received a red card, and he may face disciplinary action from the Fufa Competitions Disciplinary panel for head-butting the center referee, Tumusiime Tuge.
This derby victory elevates Busoga to eighth place with seven points, while Gaddafi remains in twelfth place with only three points.
