Over 400 Arsenal Fans in Amuru Suffer Stomach Complications After Celebration Meal

Wednesday, September 27, 2023

Amuru District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | More than 400 supporters of Arsenal Football Club in Amuru district are grappling with stomach issues believed to be the result of consuming tainted food. These fans experienced severe stomach pains and diarrhea shortly after eating a celebratory meal prepared in honor of Arsenal’s victory over Manchester City FC in the Community Shield Cup on September 23, 2023. The meal took place at Lajalula Trading Centre in Lajalula Parish, Lakang Sub County.

To mark the occasion, fans collectively funded and hosted a feast, symbolizing their relief from the longing for trophies. Unfortunately, the celebration turned sour when all the participants reported stomachaches and severe diarrhea.

Stephen Ingeyo, one of the affected fans, expressed his astonishment at developing stomach issues, including watery stool, after attending the celebration. Ingeyo sought treatment at a local clinic, and Michael Odora, an Arsenal supporter and Chairperson of the local business community, also underwent treatment for the same condition. Both suspect that the food, prepared in an open setting, may have been intentionally poisoned.

Francis Odida, the Chairperson of Lajalula Parish, reported that a community meeting was held to investigate the suspected food contamination. There was noticeable foaming in the food shortly after it was cooked, but the fans did not initially pay it much attention. So far, there have been no casualties, but many people continue to suffer from these conditions.

Odida also mentioned that their investigation led them to a woman whom community members suspected of having questionable involvement in the incident. As of the time of this report, medical workers were unavailable for comment as our reporter could not reach any officials.
