KAMPALA, (Examiner) – In a thrilling series of matches, SC Villa secured their long-awaited 17th title with a 2-0 victory over NEC at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Charles Lwanga and Hakim Kiwanuka struck in the second half, sealing the win and ensuring victories by BUL, Vipers SC, and Kitara were inconsequential. Despite a challenging first half, where NEC matched them stride for stride, SC Villa’s persistence paid off.

Coach Dusan Stojanovic had to make an early substitution, bringing on David Owori for the injured Arnold Odong, resulting in Gavin Kizito shifting to center-back.

The breakthrough came in the 67th minute when Lwanga headed in a cross from Umar Lutalo, the man of the match. Eight minutes later, Kiwanuka added a second goal after a brilliant team move, sending the Villa fans into a frenzy. Substitutes Reagan Mpande and Abasi Kyeyune helped maintain possession until the final whistle, sparking wild celebrations as fans flooded the pitch.
