Mitooma District: Police are on the hunt for a witch doctor and three accomplices suspected of poisoning and killing a 45-year-old man in Butagatsi village. The victim, Emmanuel Nshimeyimana from Nyamwegabira village in Nkoko Sub-county, Kakumiro District, was found dead after visiting the witch doctor.

The suspects, still at large, include the victim’s wife, Ruth Muhairwe, Patrick Mukisa, and a man known only as Kabyogamu. The group had traveled from Kakumiro District seeking traditional healers to help them locate individuals who had burglarized their shop. They ended up at Kabyogamu’s home, where they were allegedly given a poisoned drink in exchange for 500,000 Shillings.

Nshimeyimana died shortly after consuming the drink. His body was reportedly moved from Kabyogamu’s house and dumped in Kashenshero Sub-county by Kabyogamu’s associates. Local chairperson Venensio Kansiiime confirmed that passersby identified the deceased after seeing him enter the witch doctor’s house with the other suspects.

Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson Marcial Tumusiime stated that the body has been taken to Kitagata Hospital in Sheema District for a post-mortem examination. The police are actively investigating the case and working to apprehend the suspects.
