He emphasized the enduring cooperation between Norway and Uganda, particularly in vital areas such as oil and gas, refugee affairs, and other mutual interests.

Ambassador Hermansen acknowledged Uganda’s role as the current chair of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Group of 77 (G77), highlighting Uganda’s contributions in these capacities. She stressed the importance of a meeting between Norfund and Ugandan officials during Minister Abubakhar’s visit to Norway, indicating ongoing collaboration in various sectors.

Regarding regional peace and security, Minister Odongo thanked Ambassador Hermansen for her insights and stressed the significance of peace, security, and United Nations reform. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs anticipates further strengthening the bilateral relationship between Uganda and Norway and enhancing cooperation on shared objectives.
